Pearl
My feeling lay dormant within a pearl
Engulfed by the murmur of night
Enclosed and eroded by tidal waves
Waiting to hear your breath of light
Patient for a wisp of silk to brush my skin
Like a painter’s downward stroke
An empty vessel; a canvas given form
From seed, grows oak and fern
The things before me I find hard to say
Descriptions of an empty vision
Reflections pass by me day after day
And at a distance, I question;
My choices
My emotions
My views
My morals
My values
In the end though it comes back to you
My pearl, my breath of light
And you’re shining bright
And you’re shining bright
