The best and worst of us comes through our mouth
but if we didn't have it would we use something else
we were suppose to be the smartest things around
yet we use this to put each other in the ground

What if we just refused to fight
and returned to our families tonight
what if we just stopped all the wars
and all walked out our separate doors

What if we just stopped all the hate
and instead decided to re-negotiate
What if we stopped all the greed
and actually helped those in need

Wouldn't that just be nice?
Call it Heaven and cut me a slice
it would be living every day
causing no one to run away (or should it be turn astray?)

It would be nice living here
and not having to live in fear
The children could run and play
just singing their songs through-out the day

The sun could rise and the sun could set
made me wonder "how much better could it get?"
How many resources must we exhaust?
How many lives must be lost?

When shall we draw the line?
For we have already past mine
Is this really okay
there must be a better way
