I was young
I was young when it all fell apart
I was young when it broke my heart
I was young when I had to grow up
I was young without a heads up
I was young when my world fell
I was young when I wanted to yell
I was young when life ended
I was young when my real life began
I was young when I was not given a choice
I was young when I did not have a voice
I was young when I had to grow up
I am older now when I can’t get anything right
I am older now when I pass every day with fright
I am older now living everyday in fear of a repeat from when I was young
I am older now when I feel I can’t breath, as though I’m being crushed at my lung
I am older now when I continue to have to mature
I am older now when I must do things to society's hand, searching for a cure
I am older now when my voice is silenced
I am older now when I must be licensed
I am older now when I am still living in societies cage
I am older now when I’m still in all my rage
I am older now when I can’t get back all that was lost
I am older now when all I want to do is be back to being young, just be tossed.
