Here Lies Another Jewish Girl
Here lies a soul, gone too soon,
Whisked away by death,
Like a dried, feeble flower,
No longer standing tall
Here lies the laughter of a young girl,
Bottled by death,
To be placed in his massive collection,
Dusty on a wooden shelf
Here lie the deep brown eyes,
Just like her mother’s;
Sensitive and intelligent,
With an entire life ahead.
Here lies another Jewish girl,
Treated like an animal by men in uniforms.
Ripped apart from her family, and
Burned for her beliefs.

This poem was an assignment I had in my creative class to write an epitaph.
