You Are Numbers - A Poem for my Brother
You are numbers
I am words
You use logic
While I infer
You are coding
I am typing
Both of our keys
Are clacking
You are synthesizers
I am vinyl
Your heart wrenches
Mine’s on trial
You are broken
I am sad
But we’ve got each other
That’s not so bad

I have four siblings. My parents are divorced. Only one sibling is entirely biologically related to me and has switched back and forth between parents' houses all this time with me. He went off to college this year, but I wrote this poem before he left. Still haven't had the courage to share it with him, so posting it here instead will do. Comment thoughts!
