Satin Slides
Satin slides across pale skin.
Taking care to avoid a pin,
The lady in white begins to spin.
“What a beautiful princess,”
I choose to assess.
This great lady deserves no distress.
But the band is not playing,
It soon will be raining,
And the children aren’t staying.
With the princess in full arrest,
We begin to suggest
A different plan, upon request.
The prince clasps her in arm.
No longer full of alarm,
She calms, due to his charm.
She agrees
To the decree
Of letting it be.
The princess and her prince
With a love not seen since,
Are dancing with a wince.
For she totters on his toes,
Due to having little poise.
Although for this, he too owes.
Overwhelmed with bliss,
They give each a kiss,
Which one could not miss.
Troubles may follow,
Even if not tomorrow,
That’ll bring great sorrow.
So, I wish her the best,
On what is the rest
Of life’s little test.
The great lady finishes her spin,
Making sure to avoid a pin,
Letting satin slide across her skin.
