Washer Machine Poem
Washer Machine, spinning and churning,
Multiple faces, watching and learning,
The cat’s up on top, the dogs sit beside,
What magical things go on deep inside?
Is the detergent adults? The bleach a stubborn teen?
The lost socks the children trying not to be seen?
Are there mermaids fighting pirates? Or fish escaping sharks?
Are Whites (the I mixed in) battling fiercely with the Darks?
There’s no telling what goes on after Mom’s turned off the light,
When the washer is in motion and the door has been sealed tight,
And the kids and dogs are watching, with the cat asleep up top,
But I can’t think of more to say, so I guess I must now stop.
