Compromise
Eyes can smile but they do forget how
I remember the joy but the tears collide now
Feelings carry me far, but it’s up to me to run back
And once I’ve arrived the question is how to get on the newest track
Pain etches in at the easiest of times
Creating a small haven for my insecurity to shine
Through it all I can recall the passion
Without you by me love seems to fall out of fashion
Put on your war face because I’m going in
Meet me at the center line and bottle those butterflies in a bin
In my mind is the possibility
On my sleeve is the truth
When our time comes I’ll pour you a glass of memory
We’ll toast to our youth
