Others choose for you.

I really enjoyed this poem- I reread it four times! I love the symbolism behind it; not only is it true simply, as in the "magician" already has the trick planned out, it broadcasts a greater call about society. Quite lovely. The idea behind this is fresh and works perfectly with the short format; Maybe play around with the second line a bit, but I would't change 1 or 3.
I like the idea behind this poem: it sends a thought-provoking message. To take this haiku to the next level, I'd encourage you to play around with word choice. The power of a haiku is to deliver something fresh with each of your limited syllables. "What a lie people tell you" is almost cliche. What kind of figurative language, metaphors, or more unique wording could you use there to really make your haiku sparkle?
