These limbs grow older
Creaking, downward towards earth
Yet, I am standing

The author's comments:
I live in northern Utah, where it snows pretty heavily every winter. My neighborhood is spotted with small groves of Ponderosa Pine trees here and there. It's inspiring to see how these trees have adapted to the harsh winter conditions. They remind me that, like the winter, adversity will eventually pass.
