The World Around Me
As the sun rises
I will wake up feeling sad
Why am I so sad?
The air is so thick
with muffled curses and swears.
What limits the word?
I walk to my stop.
I get on my bus alone.
I sit in my seat.
Stare out my window
as the world rushes by fast.
So soon I will die.
My lessons so long.
My ears deadened by slow speech.
When will the day end?
When I get back home
I hope to breathe easier.
What a fool I am.
I stay in this spot
until the dark blue night comes.
I finally rest.
And the next morning
I wake up feeling so sad.
It all starts again.
I know why I'm sad.
A never ending cycle.
The world around me.
