What's in My Journal?
Random things,
like summer nights,
the smell of freshly
cut grass hanging in the air.
Losing my old dogs and cats,
like Pacho and spit
My pet birds as well,
like Rico, Carlos,
and Turkey.
Nights full of soccer,
bruised shins,
and sweat.
Barbeques at the farm,
accompanied
by splashes of
jumping into the creek.
With Grandpa winning
yet another game of pool,
following shortly after .
“Let’s Go Cardinals!”
and “Let’s Go Blues!”
sprinkle the pages too.
Gus, Dayla, and Cheech,
barking late into the night.
Images of Spicy,
sprinting down the hall,
her head stuck in a bag.
Spicy sitting on my lap,
purring gently.
Of Lenny, my bearded dragon,
sitting in the sand
watching me.
Books full of
love, Hobbits, dragons,
and swords.
Loud thunder, and quick
flashes of lightning,
bursting through the sky,
rain pounding down around me.
A journal full of Love.
