Words
How does one make words sound eloquent and grand?
I have seen poets create classics with the wave of their hand
The intricate meanings they hide in one word
In poetry my own thoughts are slurred
I will never be a Whitman or Poe
Whose words continue to set our minds aglow
But like all mortals my heart yearns
My soul cries and the mind churns
Yet my words are stale on the page
Try as I might they remain trapped in this cage
Scrambling to be something stupendous
And I, unable to make them tremendous
Words, I am sorry for my injustice
Find a new master who will grant you true substance
