My Guardian Angel
My grandpa and I haven't always been as close as we ended up.
Little did I know that starting my landscaping business, would bring us so close together.
He was more than just my grandpa:
over the past 2 years he has been my best friend,
my mentor,
and a man who has the answers to all my questions.
Over the past couple years, he’s handed me over his plow truck
And his big plow accounts.
He was my first call when I would have questions about my running my business,
as he did for so many years.
He used to tell me I remind him a lot of himself,
Ambitious,
A go-getter,
And stubborn.
I’m proud to be following in his footsteps,
Starting a business and taking on his accounts.
That means that even though he has passed,
I will always have a piece of him with me,
In my mind, in my heart, and in my soul.
I know now that he is at peace, with no more suffering.
But it doesn't make it any easier to know that I've lost my best friend, my mentor,
And man with all the answers to my oh-so-many questions.
When plowing snow this winter and in the future, I know for certain he will always be riding shotgun, right alongside me. I know he will always be with me.
So Grandpa, I’ve got 2 more words for you: roll on!
