Everything was fine

No-one knew how much he hurt me
Oblivious by my hidden smile
The teachers looked away afraid to ask
Hurting here I was hiding behind a mask
I was scared and lost
Never ending pain I wished it would go away
Growing up with a guy whose only joy is to hurt me
Wishes were wished on every shooting star
A day was all I wished for a day of happiness
Somberly hiding my tears
Forced out of my hiding spot
Inching closer to me now
Nothing but a baseball bat laid between his hand
Everything was fine
