Polaris
was i a fool
for hoping
we'd make it
too far
coz you tricked
me into thinking
you were
my North Star
my path, you led
and i was guided
my path, you lit
when i was adrift
and though
it seemed
you gave my
life direction
somewhere
somehow
we got lost
in navigation
my path, you left
i was misguided
my heart and soul
now unprotected
perhaps
it's good
we didn't reach
too far
coz i can
find my way
back to
the start
you tricked
me into thinking
you were
my home
but all
this time
i was a star
on my own
thanks for
guidance
and thanks
for the light
from here
and on
i will be
alright
for all the little things i'll surely miss
i think it's time
farewell, Polaris.

It's sad that we didn't make it too far. But isn't it better off that way? At least, from where you left me, I can find my way back to where I was before I met you. And start all over again.
