Someday
Someday.
Twenty-one years ago you left,
I’m only seventeen.
I never met you,
but I hear stories-
they make me miss you more and more every time.
yet I never met you,
so how can I miss you?
It does not make sense.
I get told that I have your big brown eyes;
my parents even named me after you.
Every time I see someone that knows my dad and knew you,
They immediately know that I am your granddaughter.
I am sad that you had to go before I met you,
but I hold traits that I can remember you by-
your eyes and name.
My dad brings you up all the time…
the activities you guys would do together.
the annual festivities you and grandma would do.
I cannot wait until I can meet you,
Someday.
