It's Just My Shadow And I

I walked with my shadow
He stood by my side
All day
When all hope died
I walked with my shadow
He stood by my side
He never left
When I lost pride
I walked with my shadow
He stood by my side

He cried when I cried
The shadow and I
We both wear those stars
Along with that number
It’s burned in like scars
The shadow and I
We’ve got to stick together
For we have no one else
So my shadow and I are forever
They took everything I had
Until there was nothing left
...It’s just my shadow and I

My poem is special to me because it relates to the holocaust which my family was in. I hope people will just understand and help raise awareness so that something like the Holocaust will never happen again .
