Reborn
Raw
I never saw
the light in life
despite
how hard I try
I cannot imagine a future
as a drug user
silenced by the abusers
I stare in the mirror
and a woman over thirty
looks back at me
wise beyond my years
through blood sweat and tears
broken noses and missing teeth
we
all have secrets
and histories that we fret
yet
ending it all wont save a damn thing
holding onto that belief by the thread of a string
until the angels sing
everything
will be alright
will be alright
and in the dead of night
sweat covered and heartbroken
I eat the pain of the past
until the thoughts may dissapate at last
at last
I will heal
I will feel
wartorn
as I am
I will be reborn
reborn
