Ode to my Kindred Spirit
Forever was not written in our destiny;
Death hardened our love to stone.
We were a finite infinity,
our souls intertwined, now lost on their own.
We were different before our paths entwined,
weak and broken in ways we cannot recall
now that we have loved and together grown.
My hand in his, we ventured blind.
Together we journeyed, flying to fall
only to rise once more into skies unknown.
***
We were lovers of a different kind;
Our stories for but a moment intertwined,
though forever altered our souls remain
one beautiful, lasting line penned by fate.
