A Thought for You
Six months gone by, my love still grows
In blooming bliss of tenderness,
Our hearts are tangled, love will flow
Through barriers built long ago,
And now our union’s effortless.
My Sweet, feel free to come and go!
So long you keep me in your heart,
Affections for you will not part,
For you’re my precious piece of art:
And why, with all this certainty,
Should you remain a mystery.
And strong, strong as the ocean flows,
You drew me close, a charming snatch;
And my young heart, six months ago,
Lay yearning for a soul that’s so
Entwined with mine, a seamless match.
My Sweet, feel free to come and go!
My mind may sink in hopeless space,
But when your eyes rest on my face, --
I know that this must be my fate, --
And why, when love is so divine,
Should you be anything but mine.
