Today I Leave....
Today I leave behind the past of 2016
As I look back on my life as a young teen
In february without even knowing,
Staying inside while it is snowing
The cold windy days of March luster
And the playoff games of April make me fluster.
The quality bass fishing in may
Catching a big one makes my day.
The freedom of no school in June,
With the high on 90 degrees at noon.
The patriotism of july
Staring up at the offshore sky.
The last morsel of an August summer,
School is coming, that’s a bummer.
A fresh school year begins in September,
Man, I hope it is one to remember.
The warm colors of october,
Seeing playoff baseball, that’s a homer!
The brisk air of November,
And age 15 is the year I enter.
In the religious month of december,
We walk around town with our familial splendor.
2017 is a brand new start,
And I hope you take who you love to heart.
