I Swear To You, I Am Okay
I swear to you, I am okay.
Someone please hear what I have to say.
What would I do if nobody hears me?
Everyone believes I’m filled with such glee.
Another day will pass and I’ll be gone.
Remember me for my unheard painful song.
To you, I swear, I am okay.
Only now, there’s just one more day.
You think I’m okay as I walk the line.
Only if I knew that you understand the truth oh so fine.
Understand that I am dying inside.
If you truly cared, you’d ask for the truth and I would have lied.
Am I really nothing to you?
Must I always avoid the truth?
Only I understand my pain.
Karma’s a ***** and will soak you like rain.
As if you never cared, I always say,
“Yes, I swear to you, I am okay.”

This poem is about depression and what it feels like to have it. Sometimes it feels like nobody is there for you or actually cares, so you try to hide your feelings away. There's a little bit of swearing in my original version, so I beeped it out a bit.
