Don't Read This Poem
You rebel.
I bet you never do as you’re told.
You probably stay up late just because your mom told you to go to bed early.
You wear sunglasses indoors.
Rebelliousness
is an amazing feeling.
You have all this power built up inside of you
that you use to defy your peers.
You use this ability to
prove yourself to the world
that you’re not scared to break rules
In fact, you enjoy breaking them.
Occasionally you dress like a rebel.
Dark clothes
A knowing smirk never leaving your face.
You can’t be controlled.
But
every so often
you feel alone
with your rebelliousness.
You want someone to rebel with.
Someone to complain to about
the unbreakable rules.
A friend, you’re pretty sure that’s what they’re called.
That’s the problem with
being a rebel.
You want to stand by yourself, fierce and strong.
But when no one is standing by you,
You are scared. And rebels aren’t supposed to be scared.
