In the Company of Loneliness I Found a Friend
Loneliness crept in my door tonight
I didn't close it fast enough
I threw back the locks
we are locked in, Loneliness and I.
It doesn't want to talk
and frankly neither do I.
Instead I think of others
those who have people to hold them.
Loneliness seems to know its effect
gives me a sad smile
hands me this piece of paper and pen
watches me write my regrets.
Loneliness isn't bad company tonight.
