High Tide
She’s a lot like the ocean, y’know?
She sways when she walks and
When you look at her,
Everything else in the world seems small.
She gives off a constant overwhelming sense of familiarity,
And even those who don’t have one call her
“Home.”
Her smile is like high tide on a windy day.
It crashes through every boundary,
And makes even the strongest of people
Feel weak at the knees.
And although she’s far from destructive,
She leaves every person she touches
Breathless and gasping for air.
Her Bermuda Triangle heart will never be fully understood.
There are places in her that no one will ever discover;
Monsters that she will never reveal.
But…
In all honesty…
I wouldn’t mind getting lost in her.
