When I Am Old
When I am old, I shall be lovely.
I shall have hair the color of King Arthur's finest swords and my strands shall glint in the moonlight while I walk along with my beloved.
My skin shall be wrinkled, but soft, and my gnarled hands shall stretch out to lift up the young who are following in my footsteps.
My eyes shall twinkle with stories of my past and the secrets I enjoy keeping.
I shall laugh because everything will have have turned out okay. I shall smile because life is beautiful.
I shall bless the little ones with my words, as well as my baked goods, which I shall buy at the market, of course, because I can't imagine ever knowing how to bake, even when I'm old.
