Advice
He thinks the clouds follow us, but
little does he know,
the sun trails our car as well
to wipe away the snow.
And often when the darkness falls
he thinks the day is through.
I hope someday he'll understand
that night brings all things new.
When I was as young as he
I harbored fears as well,
afraid to let the light shine through,
to feel love's warm swell.
So brother, lay your head to rest
and close your ocean eyes.
Realize much of your darkness
is happiness in disguise.
