starlight & headlights
Why is it always at night that I feel the most fright?
Is it the weight of the day that pushes away
the joy that comes with the sun? Yet the sun
is just a star, and the night reveals a million more.
And while the headlights of my car will not guide me very far
I will find a way, avoid today, to take my pain and drive away
to meet you where you are, so you can show me your scars
from that tree where you bleed simply to set me free.
