saltwater in between
It’s funny how much my eyes have in common with the ocean, both as blue as the sky. Each one is filled with saltwater, flowing in waves.
I will never understand it, but somehow the moon’s lovely face seems attractive, tugging at the tears and the tides in the darkest hours of the night. A race has begun between the droplets of saltwater, rushing towards a coast of refuge and safety.
As I walk along these shores of life and love, I realize that the same saltwater that runs away from my eyes, also runs through my body, and along the shores, surging life through its contents inside. The same water that floods my bones also floods the sand.
We are one, the ocean and I, with saltwater in between.
