Thanks Dad
Hey Dad,
I just wanted to say thank you
Thanks for giving me the money I needed
It all really helped me with everything
Bought me clothes, food, eventually a phone
Let me go on all my school trips
Thanks for going to all those football games
I knew how much you really cared when
I would look for you in the stands
And would see your face there
Watching closely how the band performed
Thanks Dad
Really, from the bottom of my heart
Because without you
I wouldn't be who I am today
Thanks for showing me how horrible people can be
When those "daughters" and wife of yours,
When they bullied is to no end
And all you did was stare
Thanks for showing me how selfish you could be,
When we had to take you to court
All because you didn't want to pay child support
Thanks, really I knew how much you cared when I saw you at those games
You never went for me,
Never watched me on that football field
Always watched everyone else
Thanks for disappointing me Dad
Thanks for all the cards you never sent
The Christmas and birthday wishes
For denying me even though the blood test said
It said that I was 99.9 percent yours
Thanks Dad
Really, from the bottom of my heart
Because without you
I wouldn't be who I am today
Thanks Dad
Because of you, I'm confident
I know what's it's like not to have a father
I know what not to do
I've learned how to treat a person right
Thanks Dad
Because of you, I could love my mom more
And my love will be something you may never see

It's a bit emotional, but I had wanted to write something like this for a while. Thank you for reading
