Love Went Up in Smoke
You could give me a thousand bruises with your words and actions and I would still love you. I will hang on to every word you say to me, the few that are left. I know you don't appreciate me, I know you don't care, but you are art and I can't stop drawing me with you. Your words line my skin like a book, I can trace the spots on my body where your hands once were. You are a etched into my veins and into my memory. I will never let you go, no matter how many times you push me away. You are a cigarette, the smoke on my breath, the filter between my fingertips. You are bad for me but like a bad habit, I can't give you up. I would light myself in flames if you asked. I would follow you to the ends of the earth. My love has made me a slave to you. I can't seem to save my soul, I’m rotting waiting for you. The saddest thing is I'll have to wait forever because I am not to you what you are to me, an addiction.
