Lost in the Setting Sun
The rays of the bright sun
caressing your fair face
the way I wish I could
The grains of the soft sand
finding your every crease
of places not even I’ve seen
The scent of the salty air
igniting your blissful aura
in style I could never pull
The breaking of the calm waves
relaxing your beautiful essence
how I dream my words could make you feel
Soon the colors of the sun set
no longer lighting up your eyes.
The darkness begins to settle
and I notice you’re gone,
gone from my presence
as soon as the day
abandoned the night.

I've learned to accept that people come and go, much like the sun rises and sets each and every day.
