Beautiful Boy
I was taught to stare;
I was instructed by elder eyes
to note the beauty in every crevasse of the world,
to witness the wonderful.
The concept of blinking is one I fear,
for to know that I am missing beauty
sends a wave of lust through my blood,
one that becomes shame
by the time it crashes against my soul.
You are beautiful everywhere,
so please understand
that it is my duty
to gaze at your constellation of freckles.
