Are They Truly Fortunate?
The house stops you,
looks you up and down,
makes you question your life and outfit choice.
This is a red brick structure
built to intimidate,
constructed to stand with broad shoulders.
You designed palaces in your youth,
but your innocent aspirations
could never equate to this majesty.
The house stands at its full height,
hoping that your eyes don’t catch
the wheelchair ramp spilling out of its front door.
