I Miss You
My loyal friend
Time has whispered to his ear that he had to go
He whimpered and kissed my face
I knew from the signs that he was saying good-bye to me
I did not want my friend to go
I loved him
I cared for him
He would always be by my side when I was lonely, sad, or angry
But that is how life goes
He will be happy in heaven
Tears drizzed down my cheeks as I let my friend go
He laid limp in my hands with a smile when I said, "I love you."
I love you Dumpling, my dog
Then, a warm gentle breeze blew to me
And I faintly heard a voice saying, "Please live well. I'll miss you, but I'll always be by your side."

I want people to know that life can be hard, but there will be good things.
