The Grey
This state of Grey, this color that lingers.
Never able to blend with any other. You bring
Not fear, nor joy, but an isolation like no other-
No light can pierce your eternal bleakness.
To wander in this shade is to know nothing and everything
At once, to be near something and still only feel
It from a distance. This barren land of silence
Holds no dreams or memories.
In this hazy existence, one can see
Their own feet but never move them,
Never escaping from the color that controls
Their every thought.
When a color approaches, Grey
Does not shrink away, forming instead
A formidable wall, seemingly unbreakable.
But this barrier is not as durable
As it may appear, for Grey can be morphed
And mutated. This bleak mixture of white and black
Is an adamant foe, but if enough white is added,
It can become a blank canvas once more.
Do not fall back into this state though.
Grey will seize each moment of hesitation and fear, and
Once it has a grip on your will, you grant it the power to control
You once again, dragging you deeper than before.
Even so, do not completely trust the light,
For with the brightness it brings, a shadow follows.
