Unable to Resist
There they are again;
Waiting like always;
For me to walk in;
They taunt me;
Making me weak;
I cannot give in;
To all that they offer;
They are so convincing
and enticing;
Extravagantly exciting;
Exquisite to the eye;
They haunt my mind;
The thoughts they leave me;
Make them seem even more divine;
They seek me out like prey;
And lay in wait;
I made a mistake;
There I go again;
I gave in;
They are the demons
that possess me;
Again and again;
Although I must admit;
That these demons
are not real;
They are simply the delicious
sprinkled donuts;
On my kitchen counter;
Anticipating when they will be;
My next meal.
