Are you done? Is it over yet? Have you finished sucking all the life inside me?
I have lost count of all that you've taken from me,
All that you needed, wanted.

All I am now is a husk, filled only with pain and agony.
I tried to run, I tried to hide, I tried to rid me of you.
A cancer upon me, a painful tumor that quickly ate at me.

Yet despite my pain, my scars
I will fight you one last time, that my
Breath blows you away,
My fires will turn you to ash,
My body will shake you till you tumble,
My tears will drown you,
My life blood will destroy you.

I will not bow to you.
I am tired of the pain, of feeling numb.
I will bring about the death of your kind.

And so your cries reach me,
But I feel no sorrow.
Only glee.
Yet you dare approach me.

"We are not all evil.
Some of us love your seasons,
Your seas and winds,

Let us show you. See as
Our creations help you.
Watch as we try to be better.
You are beautiful; have mercy."

Thus you cure my scars,
Replant trees that once were ash,
Remove the filth from my body.

I am rejuvenated with your hands
And liberated from the pain you brought me.

But with every bandage placed upon me,
Another ten scars are made by your people.
It is not enough. It will never be enough.

Although the pain is lessened,
It is still present.
I cannot lick the scars quick enough,
And your help is not enough.

Not enough...

I am grateful for the small aid you provide,
But it is not enough.

Our war will forever occur.
Your excuses will always surface.
Our differences will never be solved.
Your pathetic existence will always be malignant.

I do not apologize for the war,
For you have brought it upon yourself.
I have given you safe haven,
And you discard your gift by burning it from the inside.

Your efforts to heal me will never suffice.
My patience has come to its end,
And my wrath is large.

I fear the end results, however, will be disastrous.
I will either destroy all of your kind,
Wipe this imperfection off my face.

Go back to a time where only my creations,
the trees, plants, and animals ruled across me,
Peacefully.

My waters and lands being clean, harmonious.
It would be my utopia,
your apocalypse,
my victory.

Or, You destroy me, completely.
My kin turned to ashes.
My lifeblood running no longer.
My flesh ruined to the point of no repair.

I do not know if
It would be your utopia,
Or your Hell, your Purgatory.

Since you seem bent on destroying me,
I will have to assume the former
Fate for your kind.

It is uncertain who will destroy each other first,
Who will be the victor of this war,
?But may the most vicious win.

If the Earth could speak, this is what it would say. We will never learn to stop hurting Mother Nature, but perhaps this will open a few eyes.

Wow. Powerful piece on the importance of taking care of the Earth. The vicious, aggressive personality that Mother Nature seems to take on in the work is interesting in that I've never seen it portrayed this way before. But it is an intriguing way to view the issue: man vs. nature. Love the underlying message to care for the wildlife for future generations.
