Eternal War
The endless victims of war.
The ones that have left,
the ones left behind.
The dead,
and the dying.
First they left,
Unprepared and unaware of what they were destined to find.
Soon, very soon, they sit, cry,
remember home and pine.
Then there are the ones left behind.
They stand at the threshold of war,
the tears in their eyes glimmer and shine.
They wait for their soldiers, begging, pleading,
praying for their sound mind, urging them to return fine,
maybe not good or great, but fine.
The pawns on the battlefield slowly losing what makes them human, and pieces of their mind.
The tree that continues to grown in the monsoon of adversity
but will it grow tall or will it grow,
then rot,
then fall...
The world still turns
while humanity slowly burns
and delirium eats away at each man until death call him for his turn.
Desalation,
destruction,
endless decay.
War,
it sounds the same backward as forward.
Never ceasing,
never pausing,
never peace.
Men fall,
men die,
men rot where they lie.
Bullets scream with death beckoning cry,
drowning out the heartbeat of the ones alive,
and leaving the dead with no rest.
Commands, bullets, death,
March on! Don't stop!
War never slows its rampage.
Panic but never peace,
Don't think!
Don't blink!
Push your humanity to the brink.
Men drop like flies with a metallic Clink.
Chance hovers side by side with death.
Which will be the first shadow that approaches?
After all in the end all that will be left is secrets, lies, and roaches.
Keep pushing, don't lose focus,
at least your dead corpse will be visited by locust.
Nature's calm peace brings more unease,
on the knifes edge and wavering in the breeze.
Just remember there are no consquences in a life without an end.
Burning through the sky, across the great divide
death comes for you and remember, he will never die.
