So how am I supposed to grow when society’s view about how I should be living is below my standards? Because all that lie under my feet is poverty and a cracked foundation. Where do I stand when I am told that my success could only stretch so far because my black woman arms are not long enough? How should I react when my mother tells me that I have to wear my hair straight on an interview because my kinks and curls, the hair that grows out of MY roots are seen as “unprofessional” And should I Still hold my head highly although the people of my race reject me because my skin is light and I do not seem “black enough.”


When will the ignorance of the black race end? The strategy of divide and conquer has taken a horrible toll because although we do not wear chains around our feet our brains bow and we give in to the white man beliefs. I feel as if many people within the black race do not recognize their own beauty It doesn’t matter how much women and men wear their hair in an afro puffs because once you get past the fluff you’ll find a cloud of white dust which keep our brains pumped up with the ideal life style of an American or European.

And because the American dream is sold far and wide every single country that believe in this nonsense is color blind. The hallucination is only sold in white and if you desire anything else you’ll be criticized.

It’s such a shame that everywhere we go there is no value in a black person’s life. Because our ancestors were the people who set the foundation for the world. Where we once sat on thrones and had crowns our people are being shot, killed and beaten down all in the name of hatred and jealousy. Bullets are the new Nooses and black people are hanging everywhere and not one will be forgotten. So this is dedicated to every mother and father who had to dig a grave for their child, for every black victim of police brutality and most of all to those beautiful black girls who stare into that mirror and see ugly in their reflection due to the white standards of beauty.  And because we do not always hold our heads high with black pride and carry this to the next generations of life the black race will remain paralyzed.

I mean It’s not our fault God did not bless your skin with such beauty. Our skin which you hate so much but tan like crazy during the summer to get the same color we already have. But I guess it’s real easy for a group of people to be unified when they all have one common enemy. But please white folks don’t get to comfy because when my people are ready to come out of this false reality that white is right it will be the end of the power you held over us.

That’s all I have to say for now so I’m going to close this poem on this note. As far as I’m concerned this is MY country and all you white people who talk s*** about me going back to “my country” owe me money.  And don’t forget to also give my people respect because they built this country with their blood, tears and sweat
