Four Years Ago
Four years ago we sat on my stoop,
We sat there for hours just talking.
Four years ago you threw me through a loop,
You used to leave me there gawking.
Three years ago you gavee a hand,
You were amazing at everything.
Three years ago you were more than I'd planned,
You told me that to you my words sing.
Two years ago you asked me to dance,
We laughed and we smiled and risked a kiss.
Two years ago it was my world you'd enhance,
We might never have known what we might have missed.
One year ago you fell ill,
I lost my compass and spark.
One year ago you lost the will,
I was there in the room when you went dark.
Now I sit here in the same damn room,
My heart's beat is slowing.
Now I see that I'm meeting my doom,
But that's alright becase the wind's still blowing.
