waves ahead

terrifying were the ones unseen,
they’d sneak up on her underneath,
she dove deep to the calm space,
to avoid all troubles on the surface
the ones she heard,
harsh words of her peers,
telling her she’s not good enough,
she goes far into the calm space
to hide from the words,
almost too far from surfacing.
the ones she felt
the thoughts within herself,
telling her she’s not worth it,
suffocate her,
to the point where she couldn’t return,
from the deep.
