I don’t like shoes;
shackles to my feet,
My feet that long to dance and jump and move.
Too restricting;
They hold me back, bind me tightly,
But when the Sun finally emerges to warm the
soft, green grass
I leave my prison behind
and leap
a free woman,
Dancing until the grass grows cold again.
