Silence
I am 5 feet from Silence.
It's bliss in my dreams,
Hell While my eyes are open.
It calls to me,
The coo in the back of my mind.
Calling to me for years,
Torturing me with thoughts of nothingness
One foot in front of the other.
I can do this.
I am 4 feet from Silence
My mother weeps.
My father worries.
My Brothers turn their heads,
Wanting to be oblivious.
My best friend dissapears,
As the darkness surrounds me.
I am 3 feet from Silence.
Fake, real,
The lines are blurred.
I choose wrong,
Betrayal seeps into the cracks of
My already broken heart.
The love is gone.
I am 2 feet from Silence.
I am in a room full of people,
Yet I've never felt so alone.
They turn.
They laugh.
I turn,
But nothing is behind me.
I am the joke.
I am 1 foot from Silence.
Everything I touch is broken.
It's all crashing down on me,
I am suffocating beneath the debris.
I want to move,
But I cant.
I need to say something,
But I can't.
Judgment takes over me.
I am so close to Silence,
It brushes my fingertips,
I can do this.
A whimper is ignored,
The Silence fits comfortably
In my palm.
A whimper is louder,
I look at the most beautiful
Creature I've ever seen.
Her whimpers break the Silence.
I set it back,
And pet this lovingly loyal thing.
Because she saved me from Silence.
I walk a million miles away from
SILENCE.
