My Song
I cannot fathom the power of heartaches,
the love that a child makes,
or the strength that a death takes.
I will myself to be strong
when the days and nights are long
and my love refuses my song.
I cannot shake the feeling
that my heart is finally reeling
and my pain is slowly revealing.
I stop to think of life,
of all my pain and strife
and love with its sharp knife.
But soon I will grow old
and my pain will be controlled
and my story will be left untold.
