Skinny, black man
Cruising on the Valley Metro
Rambling on about black God, black heaven, black Savior, black world
I listen to what he says for half an hour.
I’m intrigued.
I put my headphones away
And listen …
Every so often, he hums
“Hhhmmmm”
And when he does you don’t see it coming
It makes you feel good inside.
“Hhhmmmm”
When you think it’s not over, he rings the bell
Ring, ring
The bus stops
He’s gone as quickly as he came.

I really like this poem. It was interesting. I really like it because it's different than most poems.

Very intersting. I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say, and I think that adds to the piece a lot. Excellent work.

This poem should make a lot people look differently to other people.

The flow of this poem really keeps the rader captivated. The rhythm you start out with is wonderful.

Romans 14:8-For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

i agree in a way, but I do have to say one thing...yes...it's true that many people interpret God (capital g since there is only one true God) ,but like I said there's only one true God so there can only be one true interpretation; the interpretation of the Bible. (in case you hadn't noticed I am a very strong Baptist Christian lol) I do agree with you though that the man simply stated his opinion...i hope that's not the author's opinion though...if so, whoever you are, I will be praying for you-that someone might be of influence to you. =) Great style of writing!

This is so good. It has a touching personality to it, and it feels like something you should keep with you when you travel.

I dont agree with either of you. this poem isn't trying to put a face to god, it just tells about an experience on a bus. i rate this 5 out of 5.

I agree with you because this poem isn't creative; it's more of thought-provoking and mysterious so I'd rate this a 1.
