The first seven seconds are pure bliss.
Completely surrounded
by water-
small bubbles dancing
around fingers.
The body moves
in slow motion-
Sun breaks through,
reflecting the movement of distorted legs
below me.
The absence of air pulls me
towards the surface.
My hair stays glued
to my face and back.
Droplets covering my body
help me combat heat.
I lay on burning pavement.
Belly up.
