The wind
The wind is for flying kites,
enjoying a nice cool day in the park,
laughing with friends.
It can lift you up,
like a young bird learning to fly,
or a lost balloon that will land safely miles away.
But it can also rip and tear through trees,
shredding they leaves
and uprooting even the strongest trucks.
It can anger the ocean,
causing waves to crash
and drowning the strongest swimmers.
At the end of it all,
with scars and rips in our clothes,
tired and scared,
most come out alive.
