Happy Houses
All these houses
The shades pulled up, the light shining through
So I can see the beauty of the interior
I see pictures perfectly framed
Symmetrical on the wall
Couches and tables and shelves holding
Little mementos- of sentimental value to someone
That mother didn't run home and close the shades
As soon as darkness broke
That father is playing and spending time
With his family
I can hear them laughing
They aren't hungry
That mother didn't pull the shades because
She's not afraid
For anyone to look inside
And see the truth
